First off, if you don't like Danzig, get the fuck off my message board.  Feel free to discuss various groups and post links.

SLAYER is and will always be the shit in my eyes. I heard "Hell Awaits" for the first time when I was 14, and I was instantly hooked. It was pure fucking evil, harder than anything I had ever heard at that age. What makes them so great? The dark, backwards chords of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman? The heart-pounding speed of Dave Lombardo's drumming? Or the brutal, satanic lyrics that come from the demonic vocal chords of Tom Araya? It's that perfect combination of all of them. I'm grateful that they are still around. They have stayed true to their fanbase for years. They didn't change their style, or soften up, or charge 75 fucking dollars for a concert ticket like some bands did (e.g. Metallica). Anytime I see them live, it's like a shot of adrenaline that doesn't end till hours after the show is over, and I have long since finished pounding the shit out of anyone that gets near me in the pit. Fuck, I'm starting to get a rush just writing this. Great topic!

Slayer does have a kind of continuous integrity that only a few can match.  I've heard good things about their newest.  It's on my list of hard music to buy along with a few Nile albums at the moment.  I've been missing out on some Nile.  About 3/4 of their albums are relatively flat but that 1/4 of explosive energy and unique sound is worth it.

No mention of the Black Aria II release? I thought that'd be on top of your list, master.
Danzig and Slayer are both well and good...but I bet none of you crazy men can find a woman sexier than the singers of Otep and Kittie. Yeah, chick metal can be horrific and cheesy, but in a couple cases, these girls will have you carrying your balls home in a doggy bag. Speaking of Kittie...I really haven't heard anything from them in the last couple years. I guess I shouldn't rush into saying that they're so great.

(Sorry for the graphic nature, men.)

Good point, but it should go without saying.  I've never been unhappy with a Danzig album...that's an understatement, as far as musicians go Danzig is the most influential of my life.  I started listening at the age of ten and never looked back.  Black Aria II is going to be so fucking cool that I may have to commit a sacrifice due to a spastic, uncontrolled reaction to hearing it.  Any remotely intelligent things I have to say will go right out the window and I’ll scream “goddamn it this is so fucking cool!” over and over.

As if HANSON isn't the greatest black metal band ever!
